Major Canadian Bank – Post-Implementation Review / Lessons Learned

Lost Penny Consulting was engaged to complete a Post Implementation Review of a process improvement project. The reviewed project was completed after many delays and cost overruns. Lost Penny Consulting interviewed executives from business, IT and operations. Lost Penny Consulting facilitated multiple workshops involving dozens of participants from all levels of the project. This engagement resulted in a report setting out our findings, lessons learned, and recommendations for future projects.

Major Canadian Bank – Program Health Check / Business Case – Strategic Initiative

Lost Penny Consulting was engaged to review the status of the development of a business case for a major new strategic initiative where the relationship between the business and IT teams needed to become more effective for the business case to be finalized. We assisted in the development of an atmosphere of co-operation and transparency resulting in completion of a business case that was jointly endorsed by the business and IT teams.

Major US Bank- Strategy Development Project Management

For the business banking division of a major Canadian bank, a Lost Penny Consulting professional designed and managed the project to develop a strategy to gain business advantage through the effective use of the internet, internet technologies and associated business process improvements. The key deliverable was the strategy document.

Major Canadian Bank– Program Management – Software Package Implementation

A Lost Penny Consulting professional managed the implementation of a mortgage servicing software package implementation program. The deliverables included new business processes, a new technology infrastructure, and conversion of over $400 million in bank assets to the new system. The program was completed on time and within budget over an 18 month period.

Major US Bank – Procurement of Program Partners

Lost Penny Consulting professionals developed and managed a program that identified potential partners for a major e-business initiative. The program’s major deliverables included RFI development, procurement process management, partner selection support, and the negotiation and execution of legal agreements between the client and the selected partner.

Major Canadian Bank– Program Management – Regulatory Compliance / Taxation

Lost Penny Consulting professionals led the development of a global transfer pricing program. The scope of the program included establishing rules and formulae for allocating revenues and costs acceptable to the various tax jurisdictions where the Bank operated. The deliverables included a transfer pricing methodology, a new functional organization and new business processes. The completed program met the requirements of the global tax regulators.

Major US Bank- Program Management -Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) Regulatory Compliance

Lost Penny Consulting professionals led and managed an Internal Controls Program, including the work required to implement Sarbanes-Oxley. The scope of the program included all components of the COSO control framework. The program budget exceeded $75 million and involved more than 300 people over an 18-month timeframe. The key deliverables from this engagement included: program governance structure, business case, program charter, executive/board/regulator status reporting, control methodology and external audit sign-off.

Major Canadian Bank – Program Management – Credit Card Outsourcing

A team of Lost Penny Consulting professionals were engaged to provide program management, project management and subject matter expertise for a strategic outsourcing program. The client’s team for this program was 200+ across all areas of the IT organization with an $80M+ budget. The Lost Penny Consulting team was responsible for the development of an integrated program plan and established the core program management processes.
